Dear community businesses,
Greetings from Woven Together in Western Kentucky, a non-profit organization
dedicated to the promotion and preservation of basket weaving as a fine craft and
contemporary art form. We are a dedicated and varied group representing all
backgrounds, all linked by a common love of baskets and basket weaving.
The Woven Together in Western Kentucky Guild is in its final stages of organizing
our annual basket retreat to be held in March at Rough River State Park in Falls of
Rough, Kentucky. Attendees and instructors will be joining us from many different
states in the USA, and the excitement grows about our event each year.
While the primary focus of our retreat is basket weaving classes, we also hold a
silent auction and drawings to raise money for general funds, and educational
outreach. The silent auction is an extremely popular event each year. Along with the
auction, we give complimentary “goodie bags” to each retreat participant. These
bags are filled with small, useful items (spray bottles, small tools, rulers). Many of
these items are branded with the donor company’s logo. This is also a great place
for flyers, brochures, or the bag itself.
We would appreciate you considering a donation to our fundraiser as well as
welcoming any advertising materials for goodie bags. Gift certificates, merchandise,
and subscriptions to publications are all great ideas that your business might want
to donate. Your gifts will be acknowledged at our event through promotional
materials and will be listed and displayed with the donation itself.
Please feel free to contact Jinger Wilson at (270) 302-8967 with any questions
about the organization or the event. Stop by our retreat if you are in the area!
Thank you for your consideration, we look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jinger Wilson - Guild President and Coordinator
